Hours of Operation

8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday Thru Friday. The Buildinjg Department is open on Tuesday evenings by appointment only. Closed on Town holidays

Plumbing/Gas Inspector is in the office from 11am – 12pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Inspections take place after the office hour.

Electrical Inspector has no office hours, but inspections take place Tuesday and Thursdays. Times of inspections depend on Electrical Inspectors schedule.

Answers to most commonly asked questions:

• FENCES: Any fence over 6ft is considered a structure and requires a permit.  It must also meet the setback requirements. 
• SHEDS: Building Permits are required for sheds and they must abide by the setback regulations. Any shed 120sq ft and under can be on blocks.  Sheds larger than 120sq ft must be on a foundation, such as a concrete slab or sonotubes.
• DECKS: A full building permit must be submitted for a deck, 4ft deep footings are required.
• POOL FENCE HEIGHT: 4 ft
