10th Annual Outer Cape Mock Caldecott

Every year, the Association of Library Services to Children, a division of the American Library Association, awards the Caldecott Medal to the artist(s) of the most distinguished American children's picture book. Provincetown and Truro Libraries, with the participation of our patrons, mirror this process by choosing a book to honor with our own "mock" Caldecott award. Last year Truro Library patrons and students from Truro Central School chose The Yellow Bus, illustrated and written by Loren Long.
We encourage all of our patrons to participate and become part of the "Mock Caldecott Committee." You might like to review the slides below, to review criteria and "points to consider" when making your selection. From there, you can request each of the books from the library or find them in the CLAMS catalogue. For voting you may download a physical paper ballot here (or stop by the library) or fill out the electronic ballot here.
